Colonial Gardens Residences offers assisted living for Fort Lauderdale families just west of the city, at 2801 NW 55th Ave in Lauderhill. From downtown Fort Lauderdale it's about 8 miles. We are a licensed, 128-bed assisted living community with 24/7 care and supervision, Alzheimer's and dementia care and short-term respite stays. A new chapter for a familiar name

Why Fort Lauderdale families look just west of the city
Many families living near downtown, the beaches or Wilton Manors find that a community a short drive inland offers more room and a calmer setting while staying close enough for regular visits. Oakland Park Boulevard runs straight from the beach area to our neighborhood.

The drive from downtown
From Fort Lauderdale City Hall on North Andrews Avenue, head west on Broward Boulevard, go north on NW 9th Avenue, then west on West Oakland Park Boulevard to NW 55th Avenue, about 8 miles. From the beach neighborhoods, Oakland Park Boulevard runs straight west to us.
